Keith Ruskin's primary academic interests include neurosurgical anesthesiology, medical informatics, and human performance. He has published numerous articles on information technology, neurosurgical anesthesia, and quality and safety. Keith's most recent publications include textbooks of neurosurgical anesthesia, the management of anesthesia emergencies, and quality and safety. Keith has published a position paper on screening pilots for obstructive sleep apnea and helped to develop guidelines for the management of in-flight cardiac arrest. He is currently involved in a project to validate a peer fatigue scoring tool and develop a fatigue risk management program for anesthesia residents.

Keith Ruskin received his MD degree from the University of Miami and completed his residency in anesthesiology at New York University Medical Center. He was previously a professor of anesthesiology and neurosurgery at the Yale University School of Medicine. Keith is an Associate Fellow of the Aerospace Medical Association. He is chair of that organization's Aerospace Human Performance Committee and is a member of the board of directors of the Aerospace Human Factors Association. Keith has been designated by the Federal Aviation Administration as an aviation medical examiner.
