The University of Chicago Medicine is ranked among the nation's top hospitals by U.S. News & World Report in its 2013-14 "Best Hospitals" survey.
Two University of Chicago Medicine specialties -- cancer (#31) and gastroenterology & GI surgery (#42) -- were recognized as being among the best in the country. Ten other specialties were ranked as "high performing": cardiology & heart surgery; diabetes & endocrinology; ear, nose & throat; geriatrics; gynecology; nephrology; neurology & neurosurgery; orthopedics; pulmonology; and urology.
